With a Tiger’s Fury

A Poem

A creature prowled just beyond the big tree,
The dog strained its leash desperate to get free,
To slip under the garden gate,
And enter the dark to investigate,
But its playful barks were met with a growl,
The dog’s tail dropped, and it let out a howl,
Pulling at its chain and testing its strength,
Drawing it from the wall to its full length,
A mist rose from out of the ground,
Hiding the creature but not its sound…
