Cracked windowpane letting in a stale breeze,
Roadway rumbles beyond the mulberry trees,
Fleeting thoughts are transparent, weightless things,
Pushed out with a breath, empty discarding’s,
The world has no place inside these pale walls,
Enduring incessant memorials,
Dark and unwanted, an endless stratum,
Layered stories like burning macadam,
Concealing history, stolen treasures,
Given sanctuary in a beggar’s
Mausoleum. Unheard pleadings daily,
