Still Mornings

A Haiku Bouquet

Misty morning on the Ouse, taken by the author.

Mist dampens the path
Muffling the soft tread of hooves~
Dew in cloven pools.

Verdant leaves linger
Unwilling to let go
Time for them to fall.

Dead hands float palm up
Crinkled fingers catch the breeze~
Life’s cup flows over.

Days of slow decay
Paced with lengthening shadows~
Lamplight glows within.

Beautiful picture of autumn. Excellent photo, too.
I've been in Aus 20 years and I still have to remind myself that September is spring here, not autumn. Ending the year in high summer just never will feel right …

Summa the best haiku I read on Medium. Have not seen you in any of my listings, so I kinda forgot about you. I'm glad you popped up again & now I won't lose track. Your poetry is well worth staying in touch with (((HUGS)))
