Sitting by the pond

A Haiku Bouquet
Gently dipping branch
Leaves caressing water’s lips
Breath upon the brow
Long feathers tip up
And the beak descends to drink
Nodding to itself.
Zephyrs dance a jig
In failing summer light
Skipping on the air
Boatmen turn circles
Rippling waves that never still
Lilies lift in turn.
Fantails swish away
Stirring old reflections
A new moon rises
Twinkling drops of dew
A thousand stars born to fall
Trailing fingers weep
Thank you for reading.
