Puddles

A Haiku Bouquet

The sun rose today
Gifting life another dawn~
I drink tea and watch.

Slanting rays of light
Strike the sudden drops of rain
Halting their descent.

The canopy sings
With the pitter patter fall~
Babies know to laugh.

Puddles line the path
A child’s laughter shakes the leaves
Splash, splash, splash, giggle.

The cup is empty
But the day has just begun~
I keep on drinking.
