Lost in a Neon Sky

A haiku Bouquet

--

Taken by the author while strolling around Copenhagen, contemplating life, and wondering where his hotel was (far away and trapped behind six lanes of traffic).

Crashing electric
Over waves of neon blue~
Days torn asunder.

On foot matching stride
Shadows slide and lengthen
Night falls unnoticed.

In time’s heavy tread
Ripples break the puddle’s edge~
Life’s tide ebbs and flows.

I feel your hand slip
And coldness grips my tired heart~
Your warmth lingers yet.

Stars no longer shine
Sundered by your parting gift~
In memory of mine.

I’m a sucker for a neon sign. Taken by a tired and weary author, still miles from his hotel.
