A Teacup Full of Rain

A Haiku Bouquet

Dew drops fall with grace
From cupped leaves brimming over
My teapot awaits.

Morning songs unfold
All sung by unseen singers
Join your voice to theirs.

Squirrel leaps the gap
Soaring through the dazzling light
Letting go with ease.

I spend my morning
Counting all the leaves I see
Time well spent I think.

Children cross the bridge
Clacking sticks on the railing
Startled ducks take flight.

The birds grow quiet
As the day draws ever on
Listening for now.
